About

Network Inspector shows live upload and download speeds in the menu bar, with optional full-window charts and daily traffic insights. It is built as a lightweight utility for everyday use.

Requirements

macOS 11.5 or later (as set in the project deployment target). For best results, use the latest macOS version supported by your Mac.

FAQ

• I don’t see the app in the Dock. Network Inspector is a menu bar app (LSUIElement). Look for its icon near the clock at the top of the screen.
• Speeds or interface look wrong after sleep or network changes. Try toggling modes from the menu or restarting the app once; Wi‑Fi and Ethernet handoffs can reset counters briefly.
• Launch at Login. On newer macOS versions, login items are managed through System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions, consistent with Apple’s current APIs.

Privacy

Network Inspector reads local network statistics to display speeds and usage. It does not require an account and is not designed to upload your traffic data to a server as part of normal operation. (Update this paragraph if your shipping build includes analytics or third-party SDKs.)
